History

  • Lobuche east was first ascended by Laurence Nielson & Ang Gyalzen sherpa on april 25, 1984
  • The Lobuche East peak is climbed far more frequently than the West peak
  • In 1955, Lobuche west was climbed via South shoulder
  • Lobuche East (6,119m) is classified as a "trekking peak", and Lobuche West (6,145m) as an "expedition peak"
  • Lobuche peak is also spelt as Lobuje

Physical fitness

Lobuche peak is demanding it becomes progressively narrower & difficult. To reach a proper summit you need to make it through rocky slabs & steeper ascends. To have successful summit, it requires past trekking experience and specialized skills about peak climbing gears. THis adventure is designed especially for dedicated & strong-willed trekkers or climbers who have ability to walk in snows ridges. At times, high altitude sickness could be an issue but with slower gradual ascends you can beat Altitude sickness.

Have some daily workouts-jogging, hiking, cycling, gym prior to climbing expedition, You own this trip!

Best time to go

Climbing peaks in Nepal is a seasonal activity. Schedule your dates in Autumn or Spring season i.e in between march-may & sept-nov. These months are best suited for climbing activity. Amid the time, weather would be clear, sunny & warm you’ enjoy every each & every day featured with teasing views of Himalayas.  People still attempt climbing during December, January and February to avoid the crowd but it takes some extra effort to make it on these months. Only for experienced climbers.

  • Day 1 : Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel

    We are delighted to provide an airport pickup service as an innovative customer offering, so our chauffeur will assist you with baggage & escort you to your Hotel. He will also help you with the check-in. Later in the evening, we will be hosting a welcome dinner

  • Day 2 : Kathmandu valley sightseeing

  • Day 3 : Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla & Trek to Phakding

  • Day 10 : Trek to Lobuche East Base Camp via Kongma La Pass

    Topography:  steep trail, Streamside path,  glacier walks

  • Day 11 : Acclimatization day at Lobuche East Base Camp

    Today is a rest day to get acclimatized with the altitude. In case of bad weather, one spare day could be very helpful while scaling Lobuche peak. Our guide will fix the ropes & ensure all equipment are set.

  • Day 12 : Climb to Lobuche High Camp

    Walking hours: 4-5

    Difficulty: Strenuous/Difficult

    Accommodation: Camping

    Elevation: 5400m

    Topography:  rocky moraine, gradual inclines, steep ascends

    Highlights: Best close up views of Everest and Nuptse

  • Day 13 : Summit Lobuche East & return to Lobuche East Base Camp
